The Prison Light Project
Prisoners Request Books Many prisons have no libraries. Many prisoners have nothing but time on their hands. Word gets around, and they ask us for something ― often anything ― to read. They seek light to illuminate their enforced darkness.

We select a titleWe ship only donated books to prisoners. We cannot afford to buy new books, and we cannot usually match precise requests, but we come close much of the time.

Inmate gets the book.We verify the prisoner's address online. Often they have moved before we can service their request. Packages are labeled "UNDELIVERABLE? DO NOT RETURN! Please donate to the prison library or give to a deserving inmate."
